I usually go out of my

way to Lake Jackson HEB for tortillas.  The ones they make in the store are the best store-bought I've found.  We usually never finish a package though.  I made 12 yesterday (it could have been more but most of them were as big as a dinner plate).

This was the last of them.  A package of 20 (and sometimes 10) store-made never gets finished around here.  I made 12 and they lasted almost 26 hours.  Maybe I'll need to make more.

A year ago today I was not having homemade tortillas or carne guisada.  I was having hospital food and was trapped in a hospital bed.  I'm so glad that's over and done.  The days leading up to my surgery, I was worrying and wishing it was finished.  Here we are, a year later, and now I'm just out of tortillas.  I'm okay with that.

While it's easier to use the

packages of pre-cut stew meat for carne guisada, sometimes I'll buy a chuck roast and cut it up myself.  The other day I bought a shoulder roast.  I cut it up this morning and even though it was ready by 9:30, we waited and had it for dinner.  That shoulder roast was SO tender.  I think I need to use that from now on.  I mixed up some dough for tortillas around 3:00 and got it ready to roll out.  When Cosme took Ellie out for his afternoon break, I started rolling and cooking.

I love a thin, moist tortilla.  I could eat them for days.  I guess it's a good thing I only made 12.  I'm full.

It's too bad I didn't wait to make all this for the cold front that's coming.  That would've been perfect together.  While I didn't think ahead as far as the meal planning goes, I did plan ahead for the baby's wardrobe.  That last cool front had me realizing that she didn't have enough warm clothes.  No worries, I did some shopping and I think she might have enough to get her through winter.  Yeah, she probably has stuff at home but it's not here and here is where I need it.  I bought her a coat, a cape-like poncho, and a cardigan with a unicorn horn.  I bought her lots of pants and long sleeved shirts, with quite a few having unicorns, cats, and caticorns on them.

It's funny because I hated cats and unicorns as a kid.  In fifth grade, a bunch of us thought it would be cool if we had a gang.  We didn't do anything, we just liked the idea of being in a gang of girls.  There was another group of girls who we didn't want in our group so they started their own gang.  I don't remember which group decided we needed names first but they named themselves The Unicorns and our group was The Warriors.  (You know, because none of us had ever been in a fight???)  Our plan was to wear a bandana around one of our legs so we'd stand out from The Unicorns.  It wasn't the best situation because one of my closest friends was a Unicorn.  Anyway, I think all of that might have lasted a week.  The whole Unicorns vs. Warriors thing fizzled out and we were back to spending recess playing four square after that.  Oh well, here I am now buying all things unicorns and cats.

Looking beyond unicorns, cats, and caticorns, these are all cold weather clothes.  I've gone through and am washing them all now, but I'm also thinking a lot of them might be too warm.  Now I'm back online looking for short sleeved shirts she can wear under everything so that shedding in layers is an option.  Oh well, I'll eventually have it figured out.  Until then, there are tortillas.

It seems like the crud is

going around again.  The baby started sneezing last week and now she has a runny nose and is coughing.  If it gets me, I can at least say I put up a good fight.

I started feeling a little something coming on last week.  You know that feeling when you can tell you're trying to fight something off?  I talked to Lauren and mentioned to her how I was feeling.  She told me to take lots of vitamin C.  I took one in the morning but around lunchtime, I took olive leaf extract.  I've been doing that every day, in addition to using peppermint oil and Thieves in the diffuser.

I'd only heard about olive leaf extract about a month or so ago.  I read a comment on someone's post so I googled it.  "Research shows oleuropein, the main component in olive leaf extract, has antioxidant, antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and immune stimulating properties.  Historically, olive leaf extract has been used for the prevention or treatment of inflammation, infections (e.g., the common cold, influenza, candidiasis, urinary tract infections, shingles), diarrhea, allergies, and diseases such as Alzheimer's, chronic fatigue syndrome, osteoarthritis, and osteoporosis."  I read that one person started taking that during flu season since bad stuff has been linked to flu shots.  It's not good to take if you have low blood pressure.  My blood pressure's always been on the lower side but I don't consider that technically low.  Like one nurse told me, after taking my BP and making a startled sound and retaking it, I asked if everything was okay.  Her reply while flipping through my file, "it looks like for you it is".  That said, I'm diagnosing myself as not having low BP, but having normal BP for me.  So I'm taking the olive leaf extract and fighting a good fight against seasonal crud.

Now, let's get back to Lauren, the one who told me to take lots of vitamin C.  She's got the crud now.  I asked her today if she's been taking vitamin C.  Nope.  John's had the crud so that was even more reason to remember to take it.

Oh well, I need to start winding down.  Getting plenty of rest should help me fight the crud too.  Also, the baby will be here early tomorrow and I've got to get a roast cut up for carne guisada before she gets here.  In other words, I have to get up early and TCB.

Time to get that diffuser going.

I started looking at Christmas

decorations for the yard.  I need stuff that'll match this one I already bought.

If I plug this one in and don't like it, I can find other stuff and won't use this one.  I'm not crazy about how dark this one is on the bottom section but I got a good deal on it.  My plan is to put it in the flower bed by the driveway.  I found a Dallas Cowboy snowman today but I'm sure that would disappear pretty fast.  I'll stick to this stuff that doesn't cost as much and that people are less likely to steal.  A couple of years ago our neighbor had one of those projector lights stolen in the middle of the night.  Some people need better hobbies.

I'm also going to order a new Christmas tree this year.  It won't be pre-lit.  I'm done with that.  I think I might have one picked out.  I've also been pinning ideas to spruce up the garland at the front door.  I know I get started on this stuff pretty early, but it's a lot of work and I want to enjoy it.

I had the tv on the Baby First channel today.  They play little songs with a cartoon during the day.  Sometimes the songs are about learning, sometimes it's about germs and washing your hands, and another common one is about brushing your teeth.  Today they played Deck the Halls.  DECK THE HALLS.

Maybe I'm not as early as I think... or as everybody else thinks.

Halloween came and

went.  We went with a Coco theme since I'd already decided on Day of the Dead.

I was no one in particular and Cosme was Miguel, the main character.  Well, I bought him a red hoodie to be Miguel and suggested he carry around one of Eric's guitars but he was too tired to be in on it.  A group of kids yelled "COCO!" when I answered the door but I let them know that Miguel was too tired to come to the door.

That was that.  Yeah, Thanksgiving is next but let's focus on Christmas.  I've had two presents wrapped and ready to go under the tree but look at this.

It's been hard trying to keep the baby away.  I don't know how the gifts will last until December 25th.  I think I might need to buy packaging tape and suggest everyone bring a pocket knife and/or scissors.  This should be interesting... and exhausting.

I'm trying to get as much

done tonight as I can.  I'm not doing a whole lot and I don't even think I'm decorating the porch this year.  This is what I've done to the entryway.

I don't have the actual papel picado for Day of the Dead, this is just a generic fiesta banner from Walmart.  I bought another one and that's what I'd hang outside if I do anything.  I have a few more of the tissue flowers so I'd probably do a couple of those out there too.  I'd like to have done it tonight but it's raining so...

Side note: this is the ladder I got for Christmas last year.  I really like how it's adjustable, even though it is a little heaver than my last ladder.  I didn't think about one thing though... how big it is.  I found out exactly how small it isn't when I had to change a light bulb over the toilet.

Oops.  I got stuck.

Anyway, I got the garland and banner up and then went to light all the candles to get an idea how it'll look at night.  I made another trip to Dollar Tree for all the candles.  These are the type of candles I like to keep in the cabinet for emergencies.

I need to add some framed pictures of the grandparents up here and maybe a table cloth or runner.

This is the opposite wall.  I don't really know what to do there.

And then I'll leave my candy bucket here.  If the baby's here, those two candles will for sure go somewhere else (along with the candy).

I collected the flowers leftover from the headband and candy bucket and put them in this thing by the buffet.

I need to figure out what else to do.  I still have tomorrow but I'm just trying to get as much done tonight as I can.  I'll be babysitting tomorrow and certain things won't be so easy.  Oh well, looking at it now from the blog, maybe I've done enough tonight.

Yeah, I guess that'll do.  Time for bed.

for the last few years I've

been writing the names in the book of the dead for the church.  When they asked me if I knew calligraphy, I told them I did when I was 10.  We went with it.  When you're not an expert on calligraphy and you're writing names in an official book with permanent ink, things can get a little intense.

Take, for example, this name.  Vincent.  That's V-I-N-C-E-N-T, definitely not VinE...

Yeah.  That happened and I was stressing.  We discussed my options and figured whiting it out would be the best option.  I thought I'd try looking online for off white correction tape or Liquid Paper.

Believe it or not, it's a thing.

WHEW!  Wite Out called it buff while Liquid Paper called it buff for ledgers or something.  I had to get a two-pack and fast shipping, but hey, I needed it.  It was delivered today and after a quick little dab of the sponge, Vine was back to Vinc and all was good.

Now I just hope this stuff lasts since the writing's only done once a year and I've got two whole bottles.

Speaking of the dead, I thought I might dress up in a Dia de los Muertos theme for Halloween.  I made a trip to Dollar Tree and Walmart today for costume supplies.

I decorated a headband

and a pumpkin for handing out candy.

It's supposed to be the coldest Halloween we've had in a long time, with a low of 37.  I don't know how many kids will be out so I started pulling out the stuff I don't like to fill my distribution bucket.  You know, just in case the crowd dwindles down fast and we're stuck with a lot of candy.

Now I just need to figure out what to wear because the skirt I thought I still had isn't in the closet.  I might wear pants instead.  I don't know.  I need to do some trying on and checking out.  I also need to go back to the store and buy some candles.  I think I might set up a Dia de los Muertos altar.  I was reading up on it all, wanting it to be right but then I started thinking.  What if I only make part of it right?  Like what if I only get the part that "calls" my loved ones back for a visit right?  What if I mess up on the part that "sends them back" or tells them to leave when the party's over?  Are they stuck here?  Are they going to haunt me?  I have another day to research... and possibly change my mind.  If I don't follow through, at least my costume was just stuff I found at Dollar Tree and Walmart.

Okay, I need to go check the score.  Last I saw, the Astros were behind.  That's when I turned the tv off.

I've had carrot cake on

the brain for a few weeks.  I bought carrots and have been looking around at recipes.  I finally settled on THIS one.  It was at this point right here that I decided I wasn't really in the mood for carrot cake anymore, but strawberry cake was sounding better.

But while I didn't have any strawberries, I had three cups of grated carrots.  What else do you do with grated carrots?  I know Luby's has that carrot and raisin salad but do people really eat that?  Yuck.  I went ahead and powered through.

I'm glad I did.  That's the first time I've ever made a carrot cake from scratch and I thought it was pretty good.  But let's not talk about that right now.  I just had a piece and I might've overdosed.

I just watched Yesterday.  Well, I watched most of Yesterday.  I don't think Cosme saw any of it.  We both did some major napping.  Anyway, the movie is based on some glitch or alternate universe where The Beatles don't exist (but some people remember the songs).  The part that really got me was the main character's mom handing him a Pepsi.  He gave it a weird look and asked if they had Coke.  She didn't know what he was talking about.  GASP.  That seems like a bigger story for me.  I can do without Strawberry Fields Forever, but Coke?

Ugh.  Maybe that's what I need to wash down the carrot cake.  I need something.  Popcorn would be good but I barely feel like starting the dishwasher.  I should probably just settle for another nap, an eight hour one would be cool.

I think I've done enough

complaining for everyone to know that my back has been bothering me.  It all started a few years ago.  I started going to the chiropractor, we got a new mattress, and the aches eased off.  I haven't been going to the chiropractor, we needed a new mattress, and the aches were back.  I was using Icy Hot and ibuprofen daily.  I went down to look at mattresses one day and found one I LOVED.  I told them I knew I didn't want memory foam because I don't want to feel like I'm sinking into a mattress.  They led me to it and as soon as I got on, I said that was the one.  It was a Purple.  I tried the 2 Hybrid and the 3 Hybrid.  The 3 was too soft.  If you haven't seen what it's made of, you should.  It's pretty awesome.  Anyway, we didn't do anything about it because I wasn't about to buy a mattress without Cosme trying it out first.  One day, I thought.

I'm not sure exactly what the mattress grid is made of but this miniature piece is fun to squeeze.

Last weekend my back was aching so I messaged a massage therapist on Sunday.  I asked if she did chair massages and told her about my back and how I'm weird and can't do a regular massage.  She scheduled me for Tuesday.  Cosme had a break on Monday evening so we went to Mattress Firm so he could test the Purple mattress.  He got on and loved it.  He actually thought the 2 Hybrid was soft and liked how the Original was firmer.  They actually feel about the same but the Hybrid seems bouncier.  (I don't think the Original has springs.  I don't know.)  We left with the Original, having 120 days to exchange it if we don't like it or want to go for the Hybrid.

It is definitely firmer than our other mattresses and it took me a day or so to get used to it.  It took Cosme a little longer and I think he still might be thinking about going back for the Hybrid.  Oh, it also stays cooler than regular mattresses so my weighted blanket definitely helped me get used to that.  I went for the chair massage the next day, which helped whatever I pulled in my back while setting up the mattress.

To wrap that long story up, I haven't needed Icy Hot or ibuprofen since last Monday.  Well, I did need ibuprofen but that was for a headache.  The Icy Hot and ibuprofen are a lot cheaper than the mattress but this way feels better.

Yeah, so much for

whatever goal I had.  What was it?  Keeping with my daily photo?  Keeping up with posting?  Both?  More?  Whatever.  All I know is nothing happened.  Once again, there's nothing crazy keeping me from anything, just regular old stuff keeping me busy.

Going through my phone pics since Oct 1, it looks like only a few things have been picture worthy... other than the obvious pics of Little E.

I made a batch of pancakes, with one looking kind of sinister.

Do you see it?  The two creepy eyes looking to the side with a creepier grin?

I posted a photo for National Get Funky Day.

I actually made it through half the month, taking on the National Day theme with the regular daily one like I talked about.  Maybe it was too much to take on.  I burned out and here I am again, lying low on social media.  It could also be an introvert thing.  I posted a pic of the baby on fb and got a lot of feedback.
Current mood: radio silence.

I am about to post something on fb though.  I'd like to go to a bar downtown tomorrow, La Carafe.  I've never been but it's been sounding kind of fun.  It's the oldest building in downtown Houston and it's haunted.  I'm scared so I'd like to find out how many people have gone and actually experienced anything.  I looked up a few videos and started to get even more scared.  Then I watched part of a recent interview with Edward Snowden and I'm thinking the ghosts don't scare me as much as the government.  Yeah, all that NSA junk is old news, but the video was just an oh, yeah moment.
Ghosts, schmosts.  (Just kidding, ghouls.  I'm still scared.)

We went for a Coke one evening when Cosme was done working and we ended up at the beach.

Nothing sets the tone for a perfect sunset shot like palm trees and an industrial zone.  That's sarcasm there, folks.  The palm trees need to go.

I guess that's about it.  Well, plenty more has happened but do you really want to hear about all the Zyrtec I've been taking?  Besides, it's almost 10:30.  It's late and I'm tired.  I can talk about the new restaurant in town and our new mattress later.

i think I have the bed

gadget situation under control.  I ordered a little bedside pocket for the remotes so we'll see how it goes.  It should be here today.  While I was at it, I fixed my favorite headphones.

These are seriously the best headphones.  Little bits have been breaking off lately and I've been gluing them back.  Glue wasn't an option this last time, but I couldn't stand the thought of throwing them out just because one side was dangling.  I didn't take a before pic but they looked just as bad as the after pic... but they still sound awesome.

Another thing that's really been giving me problems lately has been allergies.  Sheesh, it's been bad.  Allergies and sinus pressure, ugh.  I ran out of Zyrtec D last week so I was taking Benadryl and a nasal decongestant.  I didn't have to worry about passing out because the baby wasn't here.  She's back and now I've had to wean myself off the strong stuff.  I'm telling myself Zyrtec is helping but the lingering pressure and sneezes didn't get the memo.

Oh, my car also started acting up.  I tried to take off the battery cables to clean everything but couldn't.  I took a dinner/Coke break and thought about how much I didn't want to take it to the shop.  I guess that gave me the strength I needed.  I went back out to try it again and it slipped right off.  Whatever.  I also covered myself in OFF! the second time.  When I went to remove the positive side, everything just crumbled apart.  I headed to AutoZone just before 9:00 and picked up a universal terminal.  Lexus isn't about making anything easy so forget about anything universal fitting.  I spent the rest of the evening looking for the fastest way to get a positive terminal while trying to keep the S/H as close to free as possible.  I finally found one on Amazon and it'll be here tomorrow.  Until then, I'm without a ride.

Cool.  I need to get some groceries today.  I need to return raffle tickets to the church.  Remember when I was saying there wasn't really anything going on?  I jinxed myself.

A new photo challenge starts today.  This month it's free choice.  Just take a picture of whatever you want.  I actually had an idea that I might do.  I thought about doing a picture a day of something my right hand is doing.  You know, like driving (well, that was one of my first ideas but clearly that isn't happening yet), cooking, grabbing... just whatever.  I also thought about doing a photo for the National __ Day.  You know how it's always something?  National Taco Day?  National Say Hi Day?  I think I might do a pic for each of those.  I think I'll go get started.

bed should not be a

stressful place.  The other night I was stressed.  There was so much going on and it was seriously driving me mad.  My phone and iPad were both connected to their chargers and lying on top of me while my earbuds were connected to one of them.  I had to keep the weighted blanket on me because the Bed Jet on Cosme's side was blowing cold air.  There were also a couple of remotes floating around.  I had to get up to come to the kitchen and I felt like this.

I seriously had to start calming myself down.  There was so much going on with so much stuff everywhere I really felt like I was about to flip.  I have a feeling that weighted blanket helped me stay calm.  That won't happen again.  I will fix the system.  There has to be something that can fix the chaos, or at least keep it in check.  Even if I have to have one of those bedside pockets, something will happen.  I guarantee it.  Once I got settled into bed though, I slept good and hard.

Mom called on her way

home Wednesday and told me she left tamales in the refrigerator down here.  I went over to grab them yesterday and we decided that was going to be our dinner.  I offered to make nachos too.  We had tamales first and a little bit later, I started on the nachos.  I checked to see if we had a can of beans I could use.  Looking in the pantry, I accidentally pushed something and it knocked into an extra jar of salsa.

Not good.  There was glass everywhere, including my foot.  It wasn't anything major but broken glass is always a headache.  I called Cosme and he pulled a little piece out of my foot but then got a piece in his foot.  I hopped to the bathroom and rinsed off my jeans and foot.  It was a mess.  I eventually got it cleaned up and then had to recover a little bit before finishing the nachos.  I hope I didn't miss anything.  The baby will be here today and we definitely don't need her finding any stray pieces.  ugh.

Oh well, I eventually finished the nachos.  There was a can of beans in the pantry and I used a little taco meat too.  We didn't need the salsa, thank goodness.

i went to Pinterest and

looked over ways to get over a blogger's block.  I found a list of 400 blog topics.

Personal growth?  Okay.  That's sounds a little deep and not really like anything I'd post, but okay.

1.  A list of monthly goals?  Did I not make it clear enough in my last post???  I'd like to make time for posting and my photo challenge.

4.  30-day challenge?  Don't ask me that again.

5.  Ask your readers questions.  No.  Then I'd have to enable comments.  Besides, that's what texting and facebook are for.

7.  Motivational and inspirational quotes and what they mean to you?  Next.

16.  How to deal with toxic people or toxic work/school environments?  Quit.

19.  Something negative that happened in my life that turned out to be a blessing in disguise?  I hated my job.  I quit.  Oh, not too long ago, Chicken Express put a leg and a thigh in my box instead of two legs.  I ate that thigh and realized that I like thighs and they are my favorite now.

20.  How you keep yourself from breaking down mentally?  LOL, bless your heart.

22.  What calms you down and why?  I'll let you know when I figure that out.

Okay, so maybe personal growth isn't the best topic for me.

DIY Projects and Crafts?  That's more my speed.

2.  Your favorite stores to get your materials.  We have one store.

3.  A review on various arts and crafts stores.  I went to our one store yesterday.  I need more Christmas wrapping paper because guess who already started Christmas shopping??? (insert smiley face and clapping hands)  Hobby Lobby has everything Christmas imaginable out, EXCEPT WRAPPING PAPER.  I was so disappointed.

I'm done.  I soon realized that none of the things I was reading had anything to do with a blogger's block, but it was all about making money and getting traffic on your blog... my top priorities (insert eye roll and head shake).

Oh well, there is one thing new happening around here.  My disco light was delivered yesterday and it's pretty awesome.  A friend saw it and ordered one as well.  I told her we could put them together and run them in the same room.  I don't know if she thinks I'm serious about her coming down and doing it, but I am.

More good news.  Maggie caught a possum last night.  I saw it breathing after she dropped it so I tried hard to get her inside without it.  It worked and there was one more possum able to walk away on its own.  I do keep the shovel by the back door, but it's never fun to need it.

Anyway, I think that's enough for now.  I need to run a few errands and believe it or not but I haven't even made my bed yet.  It's almost time to start making lunch and the bed isn't even made.  What's next?  Back to daily blog posts???  Maybe an unmade bed is the answer, except to numbers 20 and 22.  A made bed definitely helps keep me a little calmer.

Yeah, I know it's been

a while but for one thing, I'm still trying to get a routine going.  I started this blog in 2007 and things were a little different then.  I had a system.  I'd almost always do my blog posts in the morning after I took Eric to school and that worked.  It was always a morning routine.  There are some mornings now where I'm just too tired and too many other things need to get done before babysitting starts.  You'd also think that with a baby around, there's plenty of photos to share.  Yeah, there actually are, but I don't share those pics here.  I'm not pointing the finger at anyone in particular but there are creepers out there.  Also, since I'm busy with the baby, I don't have time for any other photos like I used to.  Maybe one day she'd like a field trip out to the beach but not today.  Another thing that's got me is this computer.  It wants to do its own thing.  Today it's making me double click for everything and it's annoying.

One other thing that has me missing from blogging lately is that I don't have much to talk about.  Here are a few things that have been going on:

  • I had a birthday.
  • We celebrated a first birthday.
  • I broke three fingernails.
  • We needed dessert so I mixed a baggie of peanuts, milk chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips.
  • I've done laundry.
  • The dogs are still getting into trouble.
  • We had a tropical storm.
  • I got a pedicure.
  • We've had so much cake.
  • I've been dealing with allergies.
  • I slept for half a day and it was awesome.
  • I haven't done my photo challenge for a week or so.

You get the idea?  It's just the same old stuff.  I might look into a blog challenge just to deal with blogger's block.  (If that's not officially a thing, it is now.)  I'll probably get back with the photo challenge with the new month.  For now though, I'm not babysitting for a few days so I'm trying to TCB.

Here's what I have planned:

  • I need to cut my fingernails down because I can't type for crap.
  • I need to get my oil changed.
  • I need to get my car inspected.
  • I need to cook meals.
  • I need to start working on Christmas lists.
  • I need to finish off a roll of film in the Diana f+.
  • I need to buy frames for a few other pictures.
  • I need to take inventory of my Christmas wrapping paper.
  • I need to think about Halloween.
  • I need to catch up on Stranger Things.
  • I need to relax.

I really just need some inspiration or motivation or both.  I think I will look into the blog challenges.  Maybe that'll be like a little jumpstart that I need to get back on here.  Once I get back to being more consistent, maybe that routine will happen.  I don't know.  I have to figure something out.  I can't just stop.  This thing's been around for 12 years.  It's basically a scrapbook at this point.

I'm signing off for today.  I'm going to look up a few challenge ideas to get my brain back in it.

there's this thing I've seen

on Pinterest where people soak gummy bears in vodka.  I bought gummy bears and decided to try it.  I saw several methods and I picked the one where you put the bears in a dish, pour vodka over them, and let them sit out for 24 hours.

This was last night.

This morning they looked a little sad and beat up, like any of us would after spending the night drowning in vodka.

I pulled them out with a fork and laid them out on parchment paper.

Here's a vodka bear next to a sober bear.

The verdict:  they aren't worth it.  The flavor is good.  They taste like fruity candy vodka.  The texture sucks.  It's like putting a little slime nugget in your mouth.  I'm going to call this a Pinterest fail but honestly, it's an idea fail.  Just mix a fruity drink or eat gummy bears.

Oh, that camera I couldn't find earlier?  I found it.  It was in a camera bag that I must have taken to San Antonio.  I could've sworn I'd used a different one.  Whatever.  I found it and took a few pictures.  I wanted to mess around with double exposure again.  Now I need to take about 5 more pictures before I can mail the film in to be developed.  I don't even remember what kind of film I have in there.

Okay.  Time to wash bottles and do a few other chores before bed.  I'm tired.  I feel like how vodka bear looks up there.  I'm going to see if ibuprofen helps.  Vodka bear is just going to the garbage.

hello, is this thing

on?  (tap, tap)

I had a minute to spare so thought I'd try out the computer.  I don't have time to try to see if I can add a pic because the baby's stirring but so far, things are looking up.  I might be back in business.  Knock on wood.  I didn't do anything except turn it off and leave it alone for what?  A month?  I also changed the batteries in the keyboard.  Fingers crossed.

I've been looking for my Diana f+ this morning.  I can't find it and the last place I remember using it was San Antonio.  I took a picture of the Alamo.  The good news is, I thought I lost earbuds and a stress ball during my hospital stay but I just found those yesterday.  That camera might eventually show up... I just hope it isn't 10 months down the road.

Got to keep looking before the baby wakes up.  Although, it was because of her I found the earbuds and stress ball.  Maybe I should let her dig for the camera.

If I'm going to have to blog

on my phone, I might as well take advantage of it. I'm sitting in the pedicure chair right now. Maybe I should've been doing this all along.

Other than getting a pedicure today, I'm working on babyproofing the house.

I never did any babyproofing for Eric because he never had any desire to get into things. He just wanted to take things apart.  The baby is a lot more curious.

We did have our first mishap the other day. I had this Peter Rabbit dish set on display on a lower shelf.

No worries though. Nobody got hurt and I found a replacement online that should be here soon.

So, yeah. This weekend I'm trying to make things a little better.  I also really need to figure out meals. We've been eating out so much because it's easier and I'm tired when it's time for dinner.  I'm going to plan and prep this weekend.  Whether it's trying to figure out what to make in the crockpot or making casseroles to reheat later, something has to change.  I should probably add an energy-boosting vitamin to today's grocery list. I don't know.

Oh well, the pedicure is wrapping up so I guess I will too.

I haven't even tried

getting on my computer since it froze up on me during that last post. Is this what it's come to? Posting from my phone and not even being consistent because I hate typing on my phone? Ugh. Woe is me.

In other news, I was searching for treadmills online. Walmart's fb ad decided I needed more.

Treadmills are so boring.  Why not work on my abs on a mechanical horse?

I know I mentioned I'm watching Yellowstone now, but I'm not quite ready to take it to that level.

Or maybe, if we ever get a pool, I can get these.

I hear webbed fingers are all the rage but I see that 3-star review.  It was probably Michael Phelps trying to trick potential buyers... or potential competition.

Let's forget about both of those. I want something to do to be active but maybe stay out of the sun and not bounce around while I sit there. You know what would be even better? Maybe I could make money while I do it!

Yes, Walmart.  That's EXACTLY what I had in mind. I didn't read the details, but if that thing's electric, I'd probably need a few extension cords to even peddle to the end of the driveway.

That's about as long as this post can be. Phone typibg is for the birds. See? I didn't correct that so I can prove a point. Actually, I missed it at first but I caught a lot of other typos.

That's it for today. Goodnight.

Don't you hate it when

you sit down to write something on your blog and your p.o.s. computer is working at a snail's pace? I'm pretty sure it won't last much longer... the computer, not the slowness. It hung up on saving a picture. Figures. So I have a breaker stopping my dryer from working and now old age is stopping my computer.

Maybe sharing something that makes me happy will balance out technology letting me down.

We have been hooked on Jack in the Box tacos and guess what... We figured out how to make them at home!  They are so good.

You know what isn't good? Doing a blog post on my phone. Actually,  it sucks.  (Not as much as a blog post from the iPad but it still sucks.) I might see how well my phone does at searching for new computers next.

Maybe I'll do it after one more episode of Yellowstone.

I've been binge watching since yesterday.  In real time, it's in its second season so I'm almost caught up.  I like it but it's probably not for everyone. It's basically a modern day cowboys and Indians show with corruption. Maybe the older cowboys and Indian shows had corruption but I wouldn't know. I don't think I'll start watching Bonanza to find out. Did Bonanza even have Indians? I guess I'll google that.

Okay, I'm off to finish my episode on my iPad while I search for a new computer on my phone.

I couldn't sleep the other

night so I went on Amazon and searched for cream or ointment for my dry skin.  I found some that people really liked so I ordered it.

I'm up a creek if I ever lose the box or directions.

This is the instruction manual.

A couple of the things it helps is "bad feet" and "the feet itch".  Oh, it also helps with hemorrhoids and mosquito bites.  How could anyone not want to buy this stuff?

Don't feel bad if you have a hard time making out what it all says.  Aren't instructions usually printed this small?

The good news is 1) my ruler has a magnifying glass and 2) I have a pair of bifocals around here somewhere.

Who knows though, maybe that tube says something about the cream improving eyesight.
