so let's see...

Rosalinda came on Thursday.  On Thursdays I go to the church from 2-3.  When Rosalinda told me she would be here at 8:00, I asked her how long it would take.  She said 8:00.  I figured she didn't understand what I was asking and just let it be.  I calculated it all and figured if she got here at 8:00, she'd probably be finished by 12:00 or 12:30.  She got here a little after 8:00 and started at the bar.  When she was still at the bar at 9:30, I decided to email the church and let them know I was stuck at the house.  This whole time, as much as I wanted to plop on the couch, I did laundry.  On about my fourth load, I came from my bedroom through the kitchen and smelled the oven cleaner.  Not my favorite scent but at least it was getting done.  A little later I walked through to see everything out of the refrigerator, on the island and Rosalinda scrubbing in the fridge.  Fast forward to 7:30, everything was done and she's DEFINITELY coming back.  I offered her Cokes every once in a while but she was busy and never even stopped for a lunch break.  Next time I think I'll pick a day other than Thursday.

Yesterday I tried making lobster for the first time.  Cosme and Eric liked it.  I had a bite but I'm not a fan of lobster.  Shrimp is my seafood limit.
Surf and Turf with baked potatoes and roasted asparagus with mushrooms
Like I was saying, they liked it.  I grilled it with some siracha butter I mixed up.  Eric had his plain and Cosme had his with lemon and chives.

Today I'm making shrimp and grits.  Would there be a better way to follow that than with bread pudding?  Did you say "no"?  Then I agree.  So I have my fresh French bread torn up and now I'm ready to make and eat dinner.  This is going to be a long day...

FYI, I've been doing this blog for 7 years and I just realized I could add captions under my pictures.  LET THE CAPTIONING BEGIN!

with my backaches and

Mothers Day, we decided to find somebody to come help me with some housework.  Long story short, Rosalinda is coming today and I'm totally stressed.  I'm stressing over cleaning before she gets here.  Where do I stop?  Where does her job start?  OMG.  This is really too much to handle.  Yes, we talked about it when she came over for my estimate but seriously...  Okay, so I haven't dusted or mopped but I'm about to go wash a couple of breakfast dishes in the sink because I don't want her getting here thinking I saved it for her!  UGH!!!  This is nuts.  I need a couple of chill pills.

i don't think i

shared this yet.  If I did, then here it is again.

A couple of weeks ago I tried a new recipe for an Upside Down Peach Cake.  Cosme and I enjoyed it but I don't even think Eric tried it.

I found it here.

That's really all I have for right now.

we went out in the

backyard yesterday after I grilled.  Anyway, I took a couple of short videos of the dogs.

That's all I've got for right now.

while this will

technically be my fourth adjustment at the chiropractor, it's my second appointment of MANY.  I go three times a week for four weeks, two times a week for four weeks, once a week for four weeks and then maybe once a month for so many months and after that I don't remember.  I still dread it but I am feeling better.  Really, my back still hurts but it's nothing compared to a week ago.  The issue is 9 of 12 bones being out of place (I'm sure a lot of people hear that), my x-rays were a little scary and I think there might be a pinched nerve.  I'll admit that Sunday wasn't the best but I just stayed in bed most of the day with ice.  I'm so excited for it to get back to normal, as much as I hate the process.  Other than the obvious of me not liking people touching me, I still don't like the popping.  But hey, if 5 minutes a few times a week will make it better then bring it on.  Another plus is my 8:30 appointment time.  I get it over with early so I'm not thinking about it all day, it's the perfect time to run any errands and make grocery store visits and mostly, I'm out and am able to catch Sonic's morning happy hour if I choose to reward myself with a Coke.

On that note, I'm off to get dressed since I need to leave in 30 minutes.  I'm going to try to be on time today.

here we are on

May 8 and I've decided to do a blog post.  It's not because I feel like sitting here.  Nope, I'd rather be in the bed or actually, on the floor right now.  My lower back is killing me.  I went to the chiropractor yesterday and he did x-rays.  I go back this morning to see them and talk to him.  My back's been bothering me for a while but it's gradually gotten worse, with yesterday being the worst so far, leaving me desperate enough to call a chiropractor.  So this morning I'll find out if he can help.  Cosme has me fearing he'll end up popping my back... which I am TOTALLY AGAINST.  You know, there might be nothing to it but when it's drilled in your head not to pop your knuckles, the last thing I want done is having my freaking back popped.  It's a disgusting sound and I plan on telling him from the beginning that I don't want that done, intentionally.  It's like when I get a manicure.  If it happens naturally that's fine but don't intentionally pull my fingers for the knuckles to pop.  I will tense up and not let that mess happen.  Comprende?  Good.  I probably should've just gone to an orthopedic doctor, I don't know.  I do know this, chiropractors seem like a more natural way and the last thing I want is for some doctor telling me I need to start taking meds for this, leading to meds for that... we all know how it goes.  (For the record, I'm far from being some groovy, all-natural type person but if there's a way I can not have to buy meds so I can forget to take a pill each morning, I'm all for it.)  So, my appointment's at 8:30.  That should give me just enough time to take a shower and search videos on chiropractor visits without back popping.

Oh, and you know how I go to the church every Thursday from 2-3?  Well, I know I've talked about the pretty light that comes through and hits a certain chair and I've even taken a phone pic but a few weeks ago I actually had my camera and got a picture of it.  I now present you with... (drum roll)...  the prettiest light hitting a chair creating equally pretty shadows and reflections.

Now that I've gotten your attention that way, let this inspire you to go pray for me and my back!
