Eric and I had breakfast this morning. Guess where we went.

yesterday's meal

had me worried as I prepared it. It all started with the remoulade sauce. It was yellow. Yellow? It looked like a bowl of spicy mustard. I couldn't figure out why the coloring was off. Maybe it I put too much green onion in. Maybe it was that mayo w/ olive oil. Who knows, but I'm not going to let yellow remoulade get me down when I have steaks like these waiting.
mmm, 1 1/2 inch thick filet mignon. Randalls had it on sale so I had four cut for our lunch. I was pretty excited... until we cut into them. There was a lot of gristle. I guess it wasn't too bad but it's not really something I would expect to find at all. Maybe they weren't cut right. Maybe that's why they were on sale. Maybe I'll keep buying them from Kroger. It didn't matter. The meat had a good flavor, was a good medium-rare and we had cheesecake waiting.
mmm, the one Dodo always made. That's my favorite cheesecake. It didn't look right so I put it back in the oven for a few minutes. After it cooled, I put saran wrap over the top. UGH! I immediately realized what I'd done and pulled it off, which messed up the top of the cake. So I covered it with foil and put it in the refrigerator. What I thought would be another let down wasn't so bad. Hey, it might even be good for breakfast, I'll check it out.

Oh, we did have other things, not just sauce, steak and cheesecake. I boiled some shrimp and sliced some celery for our sauce. Our sides were asaparagus and roasted new potatoes. Then of course Sister Schubert's dinner rolls.

happy fathers day

Cosme with Eric. I like this one. It's typical Cosme and Eric.
Lloyd and Dad. There's some sort of something over Lloyd but it's still a cute picture.
Papaw and Mom. There was one I wanted to post and scanned it several times but it was too blurry. I think this one is cute too.
I like this one of Dad and me. It's so obvious I'm asking for something.
I left Lauren out on Mom's birthday so I dug and dug to find a picture for fathers day with her included. (Hey, I'm working on a limited supply here.) This was on the old cars at Astroworld, just my speed. What's up with all the theme park pictures? Wasn't there one a couple down?

still nothing...

Here's a couple from a while back. We were at Glenwood Cemetery. I played around with them so Eric would have something for myspace stuff.
I actually went out and tried to find something interesting today. I picked Dodo up and we drove around. After seeing a lot of nothing and as we were pulling back in to West Columbia, Dodo pointed at my camera and said, "You didn't do your camera". Maybe I'll try again later... or, maybe tomorrow I'll find something and be able to do my camera.

okay,

this is all I have. I think I need to get out tomorrow. I'll definitely get out tomorrow. "After all, tomorrow is another day."

i've been pretty

busy so I haven't really had time to write anything. I have been carrying my camera with me just about everywhere I go, but there's nothing to show for it. I promise though, I will find SOMETHING to post by the end of the day. If I don't have anything to say then I'll at least find a picture to post.

Now I have to finish making some potato salad.

over the weekend

we rode a few rides. First of all, as most know, I don't like rides. For some reason the roller coaster didn't look that bad when we got there so I bought a ticket. During the ride I quit screaming, clinched my teeth, endured all the banging around and swore I would never do it again. Eric likes rides as much as I do... yeah, we're tons of fun at amusement parks. Cosme, on the other hand, loves rides. This explains why he was the only one to get on the Drop Zone. See the pictures?
I'll let you figure out what happens next. Two seconds later he's back at our level and hanging on to his head. So, we headed over to the Cadillac Bar and had some fajitas. That was so much better than the roller coaster. See Eric in the next picture? I don't think he's fully recovered here. Three diet cokes and a serving of outside skirt later, he was much better.
Then we left.

still don't

have anything to talk about.

i don't have

anything to say but here's a picture.

happy birthday to

Mom. There was one picture I really wanted to post but decided not to... for the same reasons I didn't post any pictures of Cosme on his birthday. (Hey, I'm out to have fun but I don't want anyone getting mad at me.) In case anyone's wondering, it's not that I didn't want Lauren in any of the pictures but the ones I picked just happen to be before she was born.

why let a

good thing go? I suppose that's what Lee Majors thought. This morning I saw a commercial for the Lee Majors Bionic Hearing Aid. I thought it was part funny, part sad. What next?

my first try at

pasta. I liked the flavor but it was a little thick. I didn't use anything fancy to make it, just a wooden rolling pin and pizza cutter. I probably could have made it a little thinner but hey, that's a lot of elbow grease. I'll try it again for sure... sorry, Eric.

i sat with

Dodo the other day. I decided to go outside and see what the dogs were up to. Sarge didn't mind the camera. Shiner, on the other hand, was terrified. He wouldn't come close to me if I had the camera at my face.
Finally realizing I wasn't giving up, he went and hid in his cool, shady hole.
Sweet Pea is another story. She won't come to me for anything. She runs from everything.
Sweet Pea's face reminds of our old dog Buzz...but not those ears.
They've always reminded me of Piglet.

the other night we

went here to see Adler's Appetite. It's a band with Steven Adler of Guns n Roses. Anyway, Eric really likes Guns n Roses and since they were playing all Guns n Roses, I thought it would be fun. The first band came on and they weren't anything great. They just roared and screamed... boring. The second band came on and they were pretty good. They're the Texas Hippie Coalition. They were a little raunchy and there were times when I wish I wasn't standing their with Eric but we did enjoy their music. It was fun. They're coming back to Houston in July and I know he wants to see them again.

sometimes i really

appreciate the not-so-finer things in life.
By not-so-finer I mean Waffle House. By really appreciate I mean I love Waffle House.

i guess they

were so bored they had to find something to do.
Did they think wigs would help?

what kind of

snake is this? I don't know anything about snakes. Scratch that. I know snakes slither and some can kill you. Okay, I lied. I know two things about snakes. Now that I've cleared that up, I'm trying to find out what this is. It was in my garage one afternoon last week. I guess it was about 10-12 inches long. The neighbor thought it looked too big to be a grass snake. Now I need some feedback.

Oh yeah, I know it's totally out of character for me to be up this late. I'll admit I was asleep by 9:30 but I have an idea stuck in my head. Instead of lying there trying to not think about my idea, I had to get up and check some stuff out. Now that I've researched and doodled a little, I'm expecting to get sleepy again. But, looking at this creature I just posted is sure to make what little sleep I get before 6:00 an uneasy sleep. I really hate snakes.

there's a new

link over to the left under More Stuff.  Check it out.

i planted a

gardenia bush (or whatever the correct terminology is) last year. We had one by the front door in Houston and I loved to smell it.
This thing is two feet tall... max. I went out a couple of days ago and it had one bloom.... one freaking bloom. I had to get down on my hands and knees to smell the one bloom my plant had to offer. Not really what I was going for by putting it there but whatever. The next day there were at least a dozen flowers on it. I don't know where they came from but now if I could only get that thing to grow a little.

I've looked back over the last few posts and there is a lot of nature stuff going on. I'll try to do something about that. I guess I'm caught up in some sort of a nature funk. Well, tomorrow Cindy has court. I told her she needed to quit writing hot checks all over town... just kidding. (Do you seriously think Cindy is capable of that?) No really, Cindy has to go to court for Jake's stolen boat so I'm going to stay with Dodo. Maybe I'll find something else to snap while spending time in Dodo's world... or maybe not.

as if the last

post didn't have enough birds. Here are a few more.
