I waited a few days

to post, but it was worth it.  I'm back on my own computer, not the one we shared for a few years.  Also, I'm back in the world of Mac.  Mac was hard, then I got used to it, then mine crapped out on me, then I went to the world of Windows and the adjustment was so hard, now I'm back and remembering how different and easy it is.

Anyway...

The grandson and I were waiting in the pickup line to get the granddaughter after school.

IT RAINED! It was wonderful.  All the yards look terrible.

One coffee, one tea, and one phone.  By the end of the day, it was one coffee, two teas, and two Cokes.  I sat in the recliner most of the day, just trying to rest and deal with the crud... that's been around for a week now.

The return of the Mac.  Things have changed a little since I bought my last MacBook back in 2011.  Where are the USB ports? Where do the batteries go in the mouse?  What is going on?  I think it'll be like riding a bike.  I feel like I'm off to a good restart, much like this photo challenge and posting.

I was cleaning old images

off my Samsung phone and thought I'd share a few pictures, along with an announcement.

My Mac days are officially over.

While I sat out on the driveway tearing the old MacBook up, I thought about the inconvenient trips to the Mac store to have it looked at.  I also thought about the special "I'm a Mac so I can't use the regular stuff like every other computer" things I bought over the years: external hard drives, software...

That thing had been sitting here reminding me of my irritation.  Not only irritation with the hassle, but then the irritation of making more clutter and being in my way.  It's gone, gone forever.  Strong and free, no more Macs for me.

My iPad is another story.  They have me where they want me.

look at this, will

you just LOOK AT THIS?

I'm on the iMac.

This is a bird I was watching a few days ago and took pictures with my camera.

I contacted Adobe and they sent me another link to install on this computer.  I'm back in business.  I'm in a quiet corner of the house and not in the middle of the kitchen but who knows, I might get used to that.  I don't have a window beside me but I do have one behind me.  I also have a ceiling fan above me.

I had decided a while back that I was done with Apple.  I knew when the day came for my Macbook to crap out, I wouldn't get another one.  One of the reasons was that mine is a 17" and I think the largest they have now is 15".  This iMac is 27".  There is no way I'm going smaller than a 17" now.  This is kind of awesome… just don't remind me that this computer is older than my laptop.

Okay.  Time for lunch.  I just had to get on and get back with the program.

This broken down

laptop situation has me all thrown off. I think I’m going to have to turn to the iMac because only having my phone and iPad just doesn’t feel right. I need more. I need a bigger screen. I need a real keyboard. I need a better setup. I liked having my laptop at the table. I could open the blinds and have plenty of natural light while watching anything that might be happening outside. Sure, with my iPad I could go outside and have as much natural light as I want but no. That’s it. Tomorrow I’ll get on the iMac. I’ll find photo editing software and reclaim my routine... without being by the kitchen window but I guess two out of three isn’t bad.

i came really close to

throwing my computer through the window last night.  I wouldn't have done it because I didn't want a broken window but the thought of it felt really good.

I've never claimed to be a high tech person.  From day one in that first computer class we had in junior high, I knew things would never be awesome.  Things were a lot different and not so basic and self explanatory like they are now.  c:/, d:/, ram, rom... UGH.  At least now I have a fighting chance.  click here for this or that...

For the past few days my computer has been thinking really long and hard about whether it wanted to go to websites.  At first I figured it was the actual websites.  Then I started to think it was my internet connection.  I finally realized it was the laptop.  Long story short, I found a fix.  Somebody gave step-by-step directions and it works.  I had to open my library and preferences and put something in the trash bin and restart.  That's what it came down to.  I had to do something similar for another thing.  I don't remember what the issue was but I'm sure I'll panic and find the instructions I saved once it happens again.

While I was still under the impression it was my internet causing the problems, I got on my phone to look up AT&T.  (The first clue I had that maybe it wasn't the internet, my other devices had no problems.)  I saw that we're paying the same amount for 45 Mbps that it would cost for 75 Mbps.  And just before I wanted to throw my laptop out the window, when I hated AT&T and wanted to break up with them, I saw I could get 60 Mbps with Xfinity for less than either of the AT&T options.  I almost broke up but Xfinity isn't available.  I called AT&T to change a few things within our bundle, one being the speed.  We tried a few years ago but it wasn't available.  The guy on the phone last night said it was and he changed it so now we wait.  He said to give it 24-48 hours so of course, I checked 30 minutes later...

And then 12 hours later.

Still no change.

I'll keep checking and if after 48 hours there's no difference, I'll know that guy really didn't know what he was talking about.  Then I'll want to break up with AT&T again and call to go back to 45 Mbps.

Still nothing, unless you count the numbers getting lower.

Except for that ms number but I really don't know what that is.

Enough technology for now.  I'll think about it tomorrow.

Now, what's for breakfast?
