What I'm Digging Wednesday through Liz today.  I'm digging quite a bit.

First of all, photo-a-day.

Now, I'm really digging my MacBook.  I was worried about it being so different from my hp and having a hard time catching on.  FYI, I was on the hp this morning and found myself having trouble on the touch pad after being on the MacBook for just one week and one day.

I'm digging Mom being down and running around and eating and shopping (almost) everyday.  Pedicures were last week, maybe we need manicures this week...

I'm digging a stove top grill I bought from the cooking show that makes grilling shrimp so much easier.

I'm digging that it's time to start burning the autumn scents in my Scentsy warmers and that, combined with the roast I had in the oven yesterday, smelled like Thanksgiving.

You can't tell it by the blog, but I'm really digging my camera.  I didn't get a new one or even a new lens or anything, I've just been doing more with it (again, you can't tell it here).  I've had other things I've been working on.

I'm really digging so much I can't even think of it all right now.

Oh, I'm digging too that Mom and I went to Costco the other day and we sampled some orange chicken from their freezer.  It was so tasty I bought two boxes.  I dig it because it tastes a lot like the General's Chicken I usually make that we love.  I'm hoping I can slide this in the mix with nobody knowing it came from the freezer.  I think tonight's the perfect night for it.

I'm digging two songs that I can't quit playing.  I'm warning you now, they're not for everyone.  Cosme hates them both.

Like I said, I'm digging a whole lot but I should just end it here.  I need to go make brownies and then clean the kitchen so I can slave over the stove for all that homemade Chinese food tonight.

last week i helped

Mom with her booth at The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show.  It was SO MUCH WORK.  It was hard work.  It was tiring work.  The days before were spent getting things together and organized and packed.  Wednesday evening was spent loading up the truck.  Thursday was spent setting up fixtures and some merchandise.  Friday was spent finding tableskirt clips that properly fit and picking up more grid wall accessories then finishing the booth.  Saturday was spent on our feet selling Scentsy non-stop from 10:15 a.m. until after 4:00 p.m. and waiting to go home at 6:00.  Sunday was the same with more breaks and ending at 5:00 but then having to disassemble the booth and load everything up.  That's why I was missing and too tired to post.

Here are a few pics

this is my first

post on my new computer.  It's really going to take some time to get used to.  I really like this Mac but I'm moving at a snail's pace.  It's so different.

Mom and I went to visit Cindy and Earl yesterday and Bailey happen to be there too.  Here is my first picture post on my new Mac.

Cindy was showing me all the hummingbirds while we were there.

my present came

early!  It arrived at 9:30 this morning, a whole 25 hours ahead of schedule!

Now I have a whole lot of learning to do.

today is my

birthday.  My birthday present left Shanghai yesterday and arrived in Memphis 12 hours later.  It left Memphis at 2:45 this morning and arrived at the Houston sort facility at 4:05.  It will be here tomorrow morning by 10:30!

i apologize for my

absence but I was so busy last week helping Mom get ready for her Scentsy booth.  Give me a day or two to catch up on rest and chores.  The good news is my feet and back aren't killing me anymore.  (I still think a deluxe pedicure is in order.)  Oh yeah, more good news is I have two dozen tamales in the refrigerator.  More good news to come in a few days.  I'll save it for my photo-a-day.  It's not such a big deal to anyone but me but I'm excited.  Want a hint?  Fine, I'll drop one.  An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

i found this at

the store and it looks wonderful.  Homemade Twinkies in the form of a cupcake.

Now as for their warning, I have two words.  "Yeah, right."  Not only will I eat the raw batter, I will sample the filling and lick the bowl.

i've had sinus

headaches and been side tracked most of the week.  I'd like to go for a walk but I dread what the smoke filled air might do to my almost gone sinus headache.  Maybe I'll risk it.  What's the worse that could happen?  I come home with a headache, take a shower with the hopes of my sinuses clearing, take a special pill when the shower doesn't help, fall asleep from the antihistamine, wake up too tired to make dinner so we have to grab something.  Let's see.  So I can either work in the house or go for a stroll, blow off the afternoon and not cook.  Mama didn't raise no fool.  I think I need some exercise.

Here's a picture.  It's not just a random picture.  I'm in the middle of something and this was an assignment.

that long weekend

went by quickly but I'm not complaining because it also brought cooler weather (that's still lingering).  It felt so nice Saturday morning I decided to go for a walk.  It was so nice I decided I was going to start doing it every morning, like I used to.  I just haven't gotten around to it again.  While out on my walk I passed this house that had their yard sprinklers going a week or so ago after we got our notice of a water ban.  Here they were again but this time using their automatic sprinkler system.  We've gotten emails, phone calls, letters... what more does it take for these people to understand?  Just call me the water police.

I also found myself looking around Home Depot this weekend.  They didn't have a small rug I went in for but I did see some glass tiles that I've wanted for years.
227

The only problem is, as much as I like and wanted the glass tiles, I found others that I NEED for my kitchen backsplash.  I love them.  If there were ever a tile that looked like me, it would be these.
228

I walked away from the tiles after taking pictures.  I was almost out the door and I found this sitting there, calling my name.  I also NEED this.  I'm always grilling.  Sometimes I don't want to hassle with charcoal and our back porch has the gas thing sticking out so a grill could easily be hooked up.  N to the double E to the D.

Oh, I also went to Randall's yesterday and I had to get these cupcakes.  Hotdogs on cupcakes.  That was too cute to pass up.  They for sure aren't the best tasting or moistest cupcakes I've had but they sure are cute.

i didn't post anything

yesterday.  Not only was I cleaning but I didn't have anything to post.  It was a day full of getting stuff done while not having much to talk about.  I like days like that and am hoping today might be similar.  Eric left for school this morning and we thought the sky looked neat.  So he left and I came back in for my camera.
